A Year in Phnom Penh

Good food in the jungle

After a day of nothing other than reading, meandering, furtling, dipping our feet in the pond to be nibbled by the feet-cleaning fish, choosing our wedding ceremony options, designing our wedding rings and even an afternoon nap, we were treated to a wonderful evening meal, prepared and cooked in this amazingly equipped kitchen by these lovely and skillful ladies. Berry had Black Panther Pie (don't worry Berry hasn't started eating rare animals...Black Panther is a Cambodian version of Guiness so this was a Cambodian version of Steak and Guiness Pie), I had amok (the traditional Cambodian dish) and we finished with a baked chocolate pudding with cream. Amazing. It is so nice to see local staff receiving good training and developing skills and talents which can earn them a living. And satisfy our bellies!!
