Day trip to Hämeenlinna and Lahti

Today 3rd and final day off in a row. Had a fun day, made a trip to Hämeenlinna and Lahti with dad. In Hämeenlinna went to shoot fotos from the medieval castle, which you can see in this foto, and in Lahti visited the skiing museum.

Couple words about the history of the castle. It was established in the 13th century after Birger Jarl's crusade. During the medieval era the camp fortress was turned into the residence of the reign. And in the 18th century the castle was enlarged into 3-story fortress and the courtyard surrounding walls were built. During the centuries the castle has served as a military camp base, royal residence and prison. Nowadays it's culturhistorical monument which hosts a few museums.
