Dolly Sods

Today our destination is Dolly Sods Wildness area. Dolly refers to the name of the family who originally settled on the land and farmed it. Sods I think refers to parcels of lands...but I'm not sure about this. This was probably one of our favorite visits. We could only get to the area by gravel road and it was well worth it. The views are amazing and the terrain is incredible...like another country. When you look out over the rocks you feel like you're perched on the edge of the world...words just can't describe it. It's truly amazing.

We head home tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to returning to the grind. This has been a lot of fun. It's been good to see my family and the site seeing couldn't have been better.
