Drop on by...
A macro image today of a water drop refracting a portion of the flowers yellow center.
This was a totally controlled shot. Once the composition, lighting, and exposure was set, I placed a drop on the petal by dipping a toothpick in water, waiting for the excess to drain off, and then carefully positioning the point of the toothpick to where I wanted the last drop to fall.
Once the drop landed, I had to shoot quickly since it will lose it's spherical form and change to a 'dome' as the surface tension weakens due to the mass of the water.
Lots of trial and error, but always quite rewarding.
