'Swallows and Amazons', a favourite book of my sister's, is on tour as a piece of musical theatre and we went along to see how/if they'd manage to capture the essence of the book (taking younger lad and our Dad for credibility).

Success - a very clever adaptation that had the lad laughing, which is not so easy. He was taken aback to realize that the boy in charge of his siblings on this overnight adventure on a stormy Lake Coniston was only 12.

This boat and it's Amazon counterpart floated out from the stage over the audience at the end of the show.
