Huskies near the Russian border
Last night we rounded the top of Norway into the Barents Sea. Quite choppy it was for a while too! No lights in the sky which is as well as the decks were very icy.
In Kirkenes the gulf stream of the coast has been left behind so we arrived to -22 degrees C/ 11F. We had to wear all our gear today!
We ladies went to the Snow hotel and had a Husky dog sled ride. Excellent but very bumpy! This is the sled we have just vacated and as you can see the sun is just above the horizon. The dogs are great but the keep getting tangled up!
Chris went off to do snowmobiling with a newly aquired lady friend. They were told that with windchill the temperature would be -40 degrees C, and were given facial exercises to do to avoid frost bite. They were told to look out for white patches appearing on their skin!
A fabulous experience all round.

North Cape
More northern lights this evening but the deck was very wild and icy so didn't get such good photos - tried to take some from the panorama lounge but got too much reflection
