There and back again

Woodland Megalith

In the morning Jinxy and I usually have our morning walk, when we are at home, at a National Trust property called Lamberts Castle, just over the Devon Boarder in Dorset. It is a large area of woodland and open spaces with the great drop down into the Marshwood Vale on the eastern side with views away to Portland.

In a small clearing there stands this large dead tree which has been there for at least 10 years and every time I see it, it reminds me of a large wooden megalith which considering that this was once the site of an Iron Age hill fort, is perhaps befitting my name for it.

It is so big, you can pick it out on Google Earth.
