Le Chandeleur
40 days after Christmas (yes, Christmas really was 40 days ago) and here in France they celebrate le chandeleur.....the purification of the Virgin Mary and the presentation of Jesus at the temple....
otherwise known as the french 'pancake day'. There are lots of old customs like holding a coin in one hand and trying to toss the pancake in the pan with the other hand - the aim being to catch the pancake in the pan and then have good fortune all year....
Not many jif lemons around but lots of Nutella!
