Filming at the Cathedral
Gloucester Cathedral, what a magnificent building.
The scaffolding isn't for maintenance, it's for camera crews. They are filming a programme for the BBC, to be screened in July I think. It's about Edward II, who's tomb is in the Cathedral, and has such stars as Jeremy Irons in it.
I think it's the last day of filming today so you'll need to rush down there if you want to see anyone!
The guide told me that the scaffolding was used to mount very powerful lights to shine through the stained glass windows so they could film at night. Apparently, the effect was stunning.
