The Dreamy Lens

I have quite a collection of old Zenit film cameras. The standard lens that comes with them is the Helios-44. This lens comes in many different versions. The one used for this shot was a Helios-44-2.

Now this lens is quite frankly bonkers. The bokeh can be the most bizarrest thing your eyes have ever seen.

This particular lens is a bit iffy with the manual focus. One slight breath on the focusing ring and you can go from pin sharp to "ooo I hit my head, who are you and is my name Mary?"

Still, I love it and can recommend getting an M42 adapter for your digital SLR and having a bonkers time too!
