Escalation

Went to Fountainpark today to see War Horse. It's really well done, lots of excellent devices that imply the horror of war but don't reveal the nitty gritty stuff - it is based on a kids book after all.

If you've read anything at all about the Great War, it's no great leap to fill in the gaps, but it's Hollywood and there's a suitable ending. There were one or two things that didn't quite work for me. That said the photography is excellent & the practice Cavalry charge spectacular - well worth a look.

The girls are coming round tonight for a curry, a chinwag and a glass of wine, or two, so I thought I'd post early :)
