A great science day out!

Today my class 9 and me were the guests of the Department for Molecular Biomedical Research at the University of Gent (B). We were invited to join them for a day of science via the initiative Scientist @ Work. We have spent the whole day working in their amazing lab and we had Christine and Annelies guiding us through a whole series of steps to look at how aspirin is working on cell level. Every student was so keen and interested, they made me very proud as their teacher!

Here you can see 2 of my students working on one of the final steps, trying to get the glass slide with the prepared cells out of the well and then onto another glass plate so we could view the cells under the confocal & fluorescent microscope.

All in all an amazing day, so a thank you to the department for having us around for a day, a huge thank you to Christine and Annelies who guided us so professionally!
