Through the Tunnel

We have only a few choices of routes around the dam. One of them is to go through the tunnel. The tunnel leads onto the dam wall which is a single lane road. On a Saturday it is very busy and the queue can be very long . There are many hawkers that try to sell their wares and weave in and out of the cars. It took us about 15 minutes to get through but if we were going in the opposite direction it could have been about 30 minutes!

Our position here in the queue was still a distance away from the dam wall but when we pass through this archway is on the other side.

It was another hot day (as you can see in the reflection in the car window) and son S was participating in an athletics meet. He came 2nd in hurdles and will go on to the next round next Saturday. It was good experience for him!

I spent the afternoon on the couch reading and also had a refreshing swim in the pool. This evening there is a cool breeze and we are relaxing in the lounge with all the doors open. One ear can hear the kids watching a TV movie and the other can hear the crickets and the frogs!
