Snappers Rock!

Platycercus adscitus

otherwise known as the pale headed rosella, native to northern Australia. A welcome visitor this morning as I sat on the back deck. Hung around for a while giving me the chance of some nice shots - until M got over excited and scared the little fella off with her squeals of delight.

Looks like a young specimen to me, feathers a little fluffy. Or perhaps the result of a moult. Whatever, a delightful bird in any case.
