Study Tools

It is very dreich here today and the pavements were treacherous when I took the dog out this morning. Despite the constant weather reports and radio chat about the impending snow, it didn't happen here. I can only guess that there has been so much fuss because our Southern neighbours don't get the sub zero temperatures and snow that is commonplace in Scotland.

My daughter, despite only being in third year, is sitting Intermediate English and Maths this year. I have mixed feelings about them being presented early for these exams. She manages English well but is very inconsistent in Maths. The prelim didn't go well but she is determined to up her mark and surprise everyone. Worst scenario she can re-sit the exam next year when she does her other subjects but we hope that she can pass, get it out of the way and concentrate on the subjects that she enjoys and is good at.

When I was a student I drank loads of coffee and ate chocolate biscuits. Her study tools involve chocolate and a glass of milk.
