Another Languedoc year...

If only the reading on this manometer would stay in the green. Our wine is held in stainless steel tanks which have floating lids. Each lid has a kind of bike inner tube stretched around the circumference of the lid. When the tube is pumped up it seals the lid, therefore keeping out the external air.

Each day I check the pressures to make sure no tubes have failed - which would put the wine at risk of spoiling. (We lost a whole blend two years ago after the tube failed and we didn't notice for ages)

For the last few days the pressure has failed on the tank containing all the remaining 2010 blend - Syrah, Cinsault, Grenache and Carignan. Tomorrow I need to go to the agricultural suppliers to buy new materials. Rats.
