The Edge of the Wold

Treading water

I was back down by the River Kent at lunchtime today looking for the Kendal Three. They were seen by colleagues several times last week, and I met someone who had seen them in numerous locations between Watercrook and Busher's Walk....but they continue to elude me.

So I settled for a photograph of one of the black-headed gulls having a bath in the bright afternoon sunshine. The fog was still cloaking Arnside as I went to work, but my mid-morning it was a beautiful day, and the thawing water was cascading off the office roof. Tonight the sky is clear and the temperature has dropped well below freezing.

Otherwise a quietish day catching up at work after a week away.
