Lorna's Little Life

Celtic Connections

This year I have not managed to go to as many things at Celtic Connections as I would have liked to (having no job does have it's draw backs of not having enough money!) but the concerts I did get to were great, as always!

Duncan Lyall - best concert I have been to in a long time. Wow, just wow. What a talented young guy. One bass player can do wonders on a stage with so many amazing musicians and a lot of inspiration...

Peatbog Fairies were amazing - lights, drums, pipes, high volume, vibrations, friends, great musicians...

Open Stage - as varied as ever!

Transatlantic Sessions - some times words don't fit. 16 amazing, inspirational musicians, my favourite singer (Eddi Reader, of course), cracking music, silly jokes, atmosphere to blow you away, relaxing, foot tapping...

I forget at times how important music is to me, and then something like Celtic Connections comes along and reminds me. Although at times I am unable to play the instruments I would like to (one day...), I can still surround myself in music. Folk music = happy me.
