little birds everywhere

Kona is so much nicer than Waikiki. Beautiful. This morning, it was pouring down rain in Waikiki. It happened in an instant, one second there were bikini-clad sunbathers laying on the beach, the next, they were running for shelter. When we landed in Kona, it was HOT and sunny and fantastic.

We walked down the main drag, and I drug Luke into what stores I could - he's not much of a shopper. We had some happy hour Mai Tai's (mine sans pineapple, as I'm allergic) at Huggo's on the Rocks (which I do NOT recommend), and as we were sitting there, little birds were crawling all around our feet, looking for crumbs! Startled me at first, but I got used to it. Got a nice shot with my super zoom.

We got fresh mango and shrimp at the store, and we're about to barbeque some mango-shrimp kabobs in a brown sugar-lime juice-spiced rum glaze.

I love vacation.
