Getting A Bit Fed Up...
As the pressure mounts upon me for GCSEs, I am beginning to find myself more worried than I should find myself at a young age. Children nowadays seem to be brainwashed into thinking that doing well in exams is all that matters. We are being leached of our happiness and our freedom of mind because of this mind-set which has been instilled by everything around us.
I have slipped into this superficial way of life; wake up, eat, go to school, come home, eat, sleep. The weekends are not enjoyable any more; they are merely used for sleeping in and saving our sleep deprived bodies from breakdown. This may sound like nothing coming from someone who has not seen any real upset, but it is how I, my classmates and every pupil of my age feels. This does sound rather cliché, but weeks are flashing before my eyes due to this day-to-day routine which is just swallowing time.
It is mentally and physically wrong for anyone to endure this sort of emotional torture, let alone children.
Sorry about that. Sounds a little bit meaningless when someone my ages is saying that! Felt good to finally get some of it out.
