Camden Eye

This picturesque pub opposite Camden Town Tube Station is one of those lovely old buildings (mostly pubs) to be found around London. I can't find details of its history but looks a similar build to the End of the World pub across the road that is reputed to have opened its doors in 1778.

Hence the reason for today's blip as Charles Dickens was born two hundred years ago today and of course used the streets of London as the basis for much of his work. Perhaps he even took in this view in his time but without the modern street furniture, nor the need for the clientele to go outside for a smoke.

Happy Birthday Chas!
