A rather bizarre day.

A productive day today with a couple of us doing overtime to clear the backlog. Amazing how much you can get through when the phones aren't ringing!

When we finished I went to the seafront to catch the end of the Lammas Festival as I know a couple of people who were taking part. It was quite interesting to see their 'cutting of the corn' celebration, listen to the drummers and see the dancers.

The walk home along the seafront took me past the pier. Having just been at a laid back festival it was strange to suddenly come across a rapper with a stack of speakers on the beach and a group of people listening! I thought it was a small group, but it appears that we had been invaded by day trippers who had completely taken over the pier head and surrounding beaches. Apparently about 60 coaches turned up and there must have been at least 5 different beaches with stacks of speakers set up and different music playing.

Sadly although they all seemed to be having a great time, they weren't thinking about the environment and there was litter absolutely everywhere (one of my pet hates, there's no need for it).
