Posh Peru in Lima

I think Lima is a city of the very rich and the very poor. Suburbs go on for ever and although street exists with kerbs etc , they are homes built from any materials available and very few finished because once they are , then people pay tax! This picture shows a posh compound community accessed through security gates or over fences which would impale you if you made the wrong move. But deterrent are not just the tools of the rich. We saw walls with a whose who of broken glass around shatty town houses which had lesser value than the broken glass but if it's your home, I suppose, you can't put a monetary value on it. Oh and it rained here for the first time in twelve years today! Or is that what they tell all the tourists! And yes that is a Mini!
