100 years of holidays

This unassuming building on Holy Bones just off Vaughan Way in Leicester is the offices of Leicester Childrens Holiday Home Mablethorpe
It has been providing free holidays for disadvantaged children for the past 100 years.
Forty odd years ago my husband was one of those children, sent by Social Services with his brother for a two week stay at the seaside. He still remembers it to this day, it makes me very humble when he recounts to me how he and Andrew left for their holiday of a lifetime (in their eyes). It relies purely on donations to keep going and it`s still doing sterling work.
