tenorineko

Tenorineko, literally "cat in the palm of your hand" are kind of a mini rage here in Japan (the solar powered ones). Larger versions of these manekineko (welcoming cat) are good luck symbols that you can see in most restaurants in Japan. My kids gave me this at a family celebration dinner for my PhD. I howled. Will be a perfect fit for my office. Yes, that's imo (sweet potato) shochu in warm water next to the cat.
