spent too much time in front of a computer today - either that or jumping in and out of a car, ferrying kids about to after school stuff - to feel inspired.

deeply impressed by carpetbiter1 waiting patiently for me to collect her from athletics - a planned 15 min wait. she was sitting in the entrance of the sports hall looking calm and collected, deep in conversation with a girl she's never met before.

carpetbiter2 is a calmer beast too for being banned from morning tv at the moment. he has a series of in car audio tape obsessions - the latest is the Railway Children. it's good but i am beginning to talk along with the script... and we only got it at xmas. have tried harry potter but with no luck so far.

highlight of the day are my new knitting needles which look more like a surgical instrument than anything so mundane as needles. am feeling excited about starting something new. feel like i want about a month off on my own at home to read all the books and do all the things that are currently interesting me...

this is the latest thing to emerge from the skaterneedles - it's a cafetiere cover if it's not immediately obvious. i wasnt sure about how to embellish it, so on the suggestion of one of its future owners, it has a pom pom.
