Kincardine - in - Menteith .....

.... Church stands on the A84 between Blairdrummond and Doune.

The first recorded church building(c1189) was sited beside the old graveyard to the South West, beside a small motte that had been the basis of the medieval castle, the land (13 acres) having been gifted to Cambuskenneth Abbey by William 1, King of Scots (Reign:1165 to 1214)

It is likely however that religious worship has been held on this site for centuries previous.

The present church was built in 1814 - 1816 to a design by Richard Crichton of Edinburgh. Crichton, who was a pupil of Robert Adam, is attributed with the architectural design of the Bank of Scotland headquarters on The Mound in Edinburgh.
