Keeping An Eye On Things
Headed out to Mill Farm this morning (we have to get value for our season tickets) with a wee man who isn't really at sorts.
He cheered up when he saw the guinea pigs and rabbits.
On his insistance we all went down the mine to see the men at work.
After that I had to sit in the house and wait for the telephone engineer to try and sort our crackly line.
It turns out it is water damage outside.
Not a big job to fix apparently ........ just lift the manhole cover, change the line and go to the exchange and change it at that end.
I heard him gently tapping the cover to loosen it.
Then I heard the taps get louder.
And louder.
And louder.
After 10 minutes he came back in - sweating - and stated he needed a bigger hammer.
The cover wouldn't lift and he needed some specialised tools to do it for which he needed authorisation.
The boss was in a meeting but would be in touch with a time to come back.
The lad phoned after a couple of hours ..... his boss was going to give me a call with a time.
10 hours later I am still waiting.
Somebody is going to get a rocket up their arse tomorrow.
