Culloden

Despite waking to the rain drumming against the windows, we were up early having decided to visit Fort George. By the time we had arrived and sat in the cafe warming ourselves with some hot soup the sun had come out. The girls were eager to see if they could spot some dolphins from the defensive sea wall and were rewarded with a pod of about 5 or 6 jumping and somersaulting out of the water. We watched them for about 30 minutes, absolutely transfixed, they were so beautiful. Finally on to Culloden and the very impressive and newly opened visitors centre. It was incredibly evocative and very moving. Well worth a visit should you ever be passing.
