Hoar Frost
The picture shows hoar frost crystals on our weather station located on a pole in our garden.
During the night it got rather cold and the outside thermometer did not read the alcohol had gone into the little bulb at the bottom. Our weather station in the picture did read and is reasonably accurate. At 0200 hours it was -17C; it was still -14C when this picture was taken at 0830 hours. Needless to say the anemometer and wind direction indicator are not currently working. The good news is that it is warmer than in 1982 when it dropped to -23C in our garden, which is a frost hollow.
