Garlic cornflakes

1. Off to A Play, a Pie and a Pint to see Gary's play. It's really good and as ever I love the whole thing and promise to come more often.

2. Mid afternoon we start to hear rumours about a situation kicking off in town - something about armed guards. We start reminiscing about the day Glasgow airport was attacked. We were expecting the First Minister at a performance and suddenly what was already a very high security event turned into a major risk.

3. I walk past the 'incident'. Everything is closed, twitter is buzzing and the traffic is at a standstill.

4. We are at the Arches for dinner and it's fabulous. They have transformed the cafe bar into a french cafe to accompany their performance of Belleville Rendezvous. It's glorious - there's live music, french menu - excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. We are both delighted from start to end. Gorgeous.

5. I have the mussels and frites. As I get to the end the garlic sauce is so tasty I just tip all the little french fries in. They look like cornflakes in milk. Garlic cornflakes.
