St Ives RNLI Lifeboat Car Wash

Our lifeboat crew held a big car wash today in aid of the RNLI's SOS day, to raise funds to provide new lifejackets for the crew.

It was a great day with cars coming in all the time, and tea & cakes & stalls in the boathouse as well.

We cleaned cars of all shapes & sizes, form the local Tesco home delivery van, to a wheelchair, and even this little girl's toy lorry. This is our Coxswain Paul Whiston or Wiz, doing the honours.

We weren't too sure how well it would go, but in the end they were cleaning cars solidly from nine in the morning to four in the afternoon when we packed up, raising over £2,200, way more than we had ever dreamed of.

A big thanks to the crew, supporters, Ladies Guild & everyone else for helping out
