Jack Venn Cup
Not a great day for us today, went down 4-1 away at Crewkerne Reserves in the cup. They are a very good side, it's the 4th time we've played them this season so we knew what we were up against, but we know we are capable of beating them (as we have done once this season).
However, their 1st team didn't have a game today so they threw a couple of ringers in. That said , I thought we put in a fantastic performance and the scoreline isn't a true reflection of the game. We worked really hard, had a bit of a sloppy start, but then organised well and made them work for it.
I think they had 6 chances and scored 4. Not much you can do about that. Greg hit a post and had a one on one saved, and their 'keeper pulled off one of the best saves I've ever seen from young Callum who came on and did well. So all in all we gave a good account of ourselves against a team with Perry Street Premier League pedigree.
Pictured in the blue is Jack, the older of Jess's two brothers. Jack had a great game today and kept their very talented striker relatively quiet. If you compare him now to when he first joined us, he has come on in leaps and bounds. He made tackle after tackle today, and really put a shift in, so thought he deserved to be in my blip today.
Off out for a Seafood feast at The Bay Hotel tonight, can't wait!
