I Fought the Sat Nav

Just the weather for a ride to Paisley: mild, dry, and dull as the inside of a paper bag. But my phone's Sat Nav decided to make it interesting. When I saved the route I noticed something I didn't expect:

Distance: 303.86 mi
Duration: 1:17:10
Average Speed: 236.2 mph

The map showed me taking a magical detour - in a dead straight line - to a point just a few miles south of Rogart in Sutherland and back again, somewhere between Mosspark and Hawkhead Village. A detour which, as you can see, took pretty much no time at all.

I think I have found the solution to Scotland's transport problems.
