The Visit

Day 6 of the Dukan Diet.

I'm afraid that moderation has never been my strong point. I've reached that certain age when unpredictable things keep happening and one of them is my weight gain which has recently spiralled out of control. Even the slimmest of my friends are complaining that they're piling on the pounds (and have frilly thighs). It's got so bad that my family have gone beyond hinting!

It has taken several attempts to get back into Monsieur Pierre Dukan's regime. I followed his method of shifting pounds last year and found it to be a success for me (albeit temporary), the reason being that you're not required to live on minuscule sized portions.

After a few jump starts, I feel confident that I'm on my way to a more slimline me. I'm going to 'blend in' once more, be fitter, look better, and all my problems will simply vanish along with my waistline...

Hamish came with me to visit GP this evening. He seems to have lost his sense of humour where I'm concerned and he doesn't laugh with me quite so much as in the past - a teenage thing. This photograph which was taken on our departure from the hospital was one of these occasions.

This corridor contains something which may well have subconsciously prompted my diet determination. A full length mirror is capped by a sign in the shape of an arrow pointing downwards. It's message tells us 'This is the person responsible in Tayside for your health'. A timely reminder indeed!
