A Quiet Desert Mosque
We set off in rather windy conditions to a little village called Jasra which is very close to the Saudi Causeway. There were six of us in all - five of us blippers - Desert Camel AKA Leanne, Bevie AKA Beverley, DustAndSand AKA Nahid,Chris'sDailyPhotosAKA Chris
and Myself, as well as Ed who hasn't as yet joined blip. For more pics of the girls see here.
We visited the local vegie farms there where the Bangladeshi workers were doing a fine job. It did help that Nahid could speak their mother tongue and she was soon ordering them into position for an impromptu photoshoot. They looked a bit stunned but I'm sure that their day was actually brightened up by our sudden appearance out of nowhere. And as you can see through the grass is a little Mosque. I would think that this one is a Shi'ite one. There is a touch of unrest going on between the Sunni's and the Shi'ites at present but demonstrations are usually in the afternoon so things were still pretty quiet out there. Coming home the traffic in the opposite direction was backed up due to the Roads in Seef being closed due to an expected 3pm march by Shi'ites. Lets hope there's no bloodshed over this time.
