Rickety Wagon

This old rickety horse-drawn hay wagon was out on the edge of the field on the Amado Territory Ranch.

I'm a great fan of things that have character and this wagon definitely has character. It has weathered heat and dust. Wind and monsoon rain.

It sits, more or less, as a piece of art for people to admire about the tough spirit of the settlers of Arizona and the west. It's a small monument to great achievement.

This weekend we are celebrating Arizona's Centennial. Its 100th year of becoming a state. It is the youngest of any, other than Alaska and Hawaii.
