Log-burner

A cottage in Nidderdale for the weekend.

Freeezing cold outside, the 1 and a half miles to Pateley Bridge took an hour to navigate over icy paths like glass. The return journey was aided by a pair of grippers purchased from the friendly local walking shop, but once indoors the afternoon walk was cancelled! Even with the heating pumped up to max the little cottage still had chill creeping from the outside walls.

A trudge to the farm wood store stocked us up with some lovely local cord wood. Here is the result, the little log burner singing with heat, and not having had a 'real' fire for many years we were mesmerised by the pictures in the flames.
