Fade to Grey
Weather conditions have been slightly less arctic today but it still seems very cold and there's been no real light to speak of.
I went over to West Kirby this morning for a walk and almost everything was grey - sky, water, beach, birds... Misty, minimalist, mono! The (lack of) colour in this shot hasn't been tweaked at all and it sums up the unmitigated drabness of the weather very well.
After my walk I came home, ate a hearty lunch and spent most of the afternoon catching up with blip comments and reading my book club assignment for the month - Jeanette Winterson's autobiography 'Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal?'
I'm a great admirer of JW's work but have never warmed as much to her media persona as to her writing - however I'm liking her much more as I'm reading the book and keep having to stop to think about things she says and how they relate to my life and to the lives of certain friends of mine. Not that any of us have ever been locked in coal-holes by our mothers on a regular basis as far as I'm aware.
