After a great afternoon of rugby, as usual there's nothing but utter drivel on television. I've walked the dog, washed my hair and there's still people attempting to dance on ice and such like. Doesn't this bloody programme ever end?

Its a bit of a twitter joke that, when desperate, I often resort to Lord of the Rings (extended versions obviously). If, like me, you're not interested in soaps, talent shows, awards ceremonies or most of ITV's entire output, you find yourself pulling out the DVDs a LOT.

And before you ask, I do read, I have shelves of books of all genres (including Tolkien), many of which, like my G Durrell Corfu trilogy, are disintegrating through constant re-reading.
