Can you hear me now?

Hey! Looky here! Listen up, you guys out there in the wetland. I'm the green heron and this is my territory. I'm in charge here.

Green herons are elusive little critters. They blend in so well with their surroundings, and they don't usually call attention to themselves, but it looked to me as if this handsome fellow was announcing his presence to the neighborhood. He was standing right out there and letting himself be seen and heard.

Of course, maybe that's all my imagination! I just know I was happy to get a chance to blip him. I'm really loving my new lens that lets me get so close to the wildlife in the wetland without getting my feet wet.
