Daisys designer nose ring.

This isn't the new designer chicken accessory but something called a beak bit.
Daisy started plucking feathers from our Columbine hen who was in danger of becoming plucked bald and injured. The options were to isolate the culprit (or victim) or try a beak bit. This is a simple ring which fits over the top part of the beak which stops the beak completely closing. So while able to feed and drink etc she is unable to hold something as fine as a feather. Daisy sulked for a few hours yesterday, after we fitted it, but is back in good spirits today. It will be removed in a couple of months time and hopefully Daisy will have forgotten her taste for feathers!
