Working water
The Ogden valley has five reservoirs of various sizes. As always in the Pennine Hills, the reservoirs' functions are supported by a variety of structures built of local stone: watercourses, pumping stations, sluices, walls, buildings, bridges and so on. I think they add shape and interest to the hills, following contours, guiding the walker, drawing the eye.
Today, the structures were working very hard, coping with the melting snow.
