Hortisculpture
What a day! Bright and seemingly mild we headed off for a ridge walk. We walked along the spine of the peninsula - but the wind was mighty and everything had to be fully zipped. Incredibly clear though with squalls of weather on each side of us.
On our return Peter the sculptor had arrived. If you remember he arrived just before chritmas to erect his sculpture only to find that the pond he was putting it in was a lot deeper than he anticipated. This time he decided to drain the pond before putting - it was still a lot deeper and squelchier than he thought - here is sinking up to his thighs in lovely smelly peaty soil, watched on by himself and son number 1. Little frogs were leaping in all directions in bewilderment. Anyway, this central pole seemed sturdy and the next things to go on where loads of pebbles - large getting smaller, and all topped off with a copper bowl. It looks great and I will blip it once the pond has filled up again but you can see a bit more of it here . Peter exhibits all over the place - Bloom, Glastonbury, Tatton and his sculpture was in exchange for a website himself designed - see here .
Tomorrow Jim the diggerman arrives to sort out the drainage in the boreen - it's all happening.
