Background music

Been listening to a lot of Nilsson lately.
He's one of those artists whose music has been there in the background since I was a kid: I remember my parents going to see Midnight Cowboy at the local pictures and my mum's enthusiasm for it; David Cassidy singing the Puppy song (Course I wasn't into him!); Even at 11 realising what a great song his version of Without Her was. And then there were the Monkees who did some of his stuff.
And then he sort of vanished from the scene in the 80s.
I remember, in 1994, hearing that he died aged just 53.
A rare talent.
