Rising Universe

- or as it is more commonly known locally "The Shelley Fountain". This moving sculpture (i.e. it is supposed to move, rather than necessarily causing an emotional reaction) has been dividing opinion in Horsham ever since it was installed. It was originally commissioned by the local authority in Cambridge but caused such a negative reaction amongst the local populace that they cancelled their order and we got it second-hand. Like so many things bought on the cheap it has never worked properly and there are regularly calls in the press for it to be scrapped. However, there is also a certain fondness for it amongst some people in the town that is usually expressed as "it may be crap, but no other town has got anything like it".
