Dipper

We drove over to Cromford canal this morning in pursuit of the ever-elusive hawfinch. No luck, as usual ... in fact, I'm beginning to doubt their existence. But we did see two dippers flashing up and down the banks of the River Derwent. The light was abysmal (no change there, then) but I was so delighted to finally see these gorgeous little birds that this one just had to be today's blip ... and, now I know where they live, I can go back on a sunny day (if we ever get one).
