Charm
This wee bracelet was an heirloom from my mother. I think it may have only been hers, rather than a succession of her mum's mum's mum etc etc, so I don't know whether or not it can be considered an heirloom.
Still, a bonnie wee thing to own.
I had a response from the PhD advisor in Glasgow today. Bad news is that I've missed the deadline for funding through the uni, time seemed to slip away from me a bit the past couple of months. The good news is that he seems really keen and interested in my proposal. He mentioned that, while he may not know a great deal about metal, he does know a lot about ethnography, cultural studies in music etc and (here's the best bit) he has strong links with people in Scandinavia, particularly in Finland. This makes me incredibly happy!!
I'm going to arrange a meeting I think, this all sounds so very, very promising!
- Wee note regarding Valentine's Day. Did you know that the love heart shape we associate with love (or "hearting" things like NYC, Tea etc) is not only not based on how our actual heart looks - they're fairly icky looking - but is in fact based on the way a lady's behind looks when she bends over?
Puts a whole new meaning to the symbol, I think...
