9 months 'till baby fishies?
It was late, I was tired, and I only just remembered that i hadn't taken a photo yet. I took a a few pictures of the first thing I saw and called it good. Changed into panamas, brushed my teeth and fed the fish...wait, what the heck?
I can only guess that it is some kind of mating dance? They were swimming around in the turbulence under the filter, and then they would both stop next to each other, flare their fins and wiggle them as the floated upward together. Andy's theory was that they were getting ready for Valentine's day.
I ended up taking about 150 pictures, and I am actually amazed that one of them was in focus. I had all the settings cranked as far as they would go for low lighting so I wouldn't startle the fish with a flash or extra lights. The auto-focus was having issues - not surprising. And the fish tank glass was dirty. I was squinting into the view, twisting the manual focus and snapping pictures. Just hoping that ONE picture would combine focus and composition well enough to be passable. It was absolutely the Monte-Carlo method of photography.
