Are there any lessons we can learn from the Smurfs?

In the world of the Smurfs, there are two main sources of power - one for good, Papa Smurf, and one for evil, Gargamel. Papa Smurf is old, wise and powerful, ruling the others with a benevolent hand. Gargamel, on the other hand, is constantly devising inept schemes to infiltrate their town and destroy the Smurfs. Because of his powers, Papa Smurf takes on a god-like role, while Gargamel, whose power is far less than that of Papa Smurf, is in the cunning role of the devil. The Smurfs go about their joyful lives under the guidance of their leader, though inevitably some of them fall away on occasion and into the clutches of Gargamel, where they are summarily rescued by the power of Papa Smurf.
